Leveraging AI for good

Asked about the potential involvement of AI and ML when it comes to data privacy and protection, Amar said: "I think the established governance processes that already exist within the privacy space – the mandatory assessment, risk assessments, impact assessments – are a pretty good foundation for good framework.

"When you're considering the application of AI and ML, extending those processes to cover other datasets is the logical approach to take."

Roy added: "For us, we have a huge amount of data that we deal with and the priority is the data security aspect.

"We're at a great time within technology where we can actually leverage a lot of these AI techniques in order to enhance the data security aspects of the systems we work with."

Rackham, meanwhile, emphasised the need for companies to keep up with an unprecedented pace of technological change.

"The speed of evolution in technology is happening at a faster rate now than ever before," he continued.

"As a vendor, we speak to a lot of different customers, and some of the challenges aren't the external regulations; it's the internal compliance and procedures within an organisation that can limit the agility and response to new technology."
